We can always use help to improve the park. Here are some of the opportunities:

— Each spring and fall the 2-mile stretch of county highway 20 that goes by the entrance to the east side of the park has been cleaned up by the Friends.

— Rice County is responsible for maintaining all trails, but there are times when volunteers can assist in this effort.

— More permanent structures in the park (bridges, steps, boardwalks, benches, etc.) have been constructed by various groups.

— Nature guides have been written for posting to the website or printed and put in boxes at each entrance.

— There have been occasional guided nature walks.

— Anyone can share information on the Friends’ Facebook site.
